Visiting the Senior Exhibition

     The Senior Show was a collection of the body of work from this semester's graduating BFA Studio Art students from all areas of concentration. The show was split into the two gallery spaces in Kadema Hall. Overall, I really enjoyed visiting the exhibition. Suburban Nostalgia by Stephanie Tran was one of my favorite pieces from the collection. Not only was this an oil painting with the butterflies but there were also butterflies off and around the canvas. Adding the butterflies around the canvas and having them be different sizes made it seem like the butterflies were alive and flying around.

    Another piece that I really enjoyed at the show was this painting my Kyra Dao. The painting feels like a dream land with the color pallet and the swirly brushstrokes. The artist also captured the movement coming from the water fairly well. This was also a large painting, so the scale of it also pulls the viewer into the picture plane.
