Blowback Exhibition

Unblind, Bliss Morton, 2020, watercolor, ink, charcoal, pencil and acrylic on mounted paper     The Blowback Exhibition was a show of previous MFA students that did not get to have their showcase because of COVID. I attended the reception to this show, and it was a really neat experience to see the artists that made their work. The show was in the gallery in the library, and I had not been in that gallery before. They also had food and refreshments provided that we had after we viewed the work. This mixed media piece done by Bliss Morton was one of my favorites from the show because of the lines throughout the piece that distort the image. It reminds me of stained glass or glass breaking. I also really like that in the upper right corner, the piece changes from being colored to having no color where the lines intersect with the form.
